I actually laughed out loud when they announced it.

Key West is amazing but the fastest speed limit is 27 mph for 180 miles until you get to Miami. They’re not big fans of cars. The scooters make up for it though. I’ll be back ASAP.

PDX to SeaTac is 35 minutes wheels up to wheels down. You can’t even finish a conversation on that flight.

I was on a flight home from Orlando that made its first stop in Tampa. Not exactly a marathon.

I agree about getting out of Key West. I spent a Memorial Day weekend there and then had to drive back to Orlando. The bridge was hell.

Wellington to Blenheim (NZ) is 30 minutes gate to gate - 45 miles. In a prop aircraft - it’s too short for a jet to get to economical altitude. But there’s water and terrain  between the two so the alternative is a 3 hour ferry ride plus 2 hour drive.

Yeah, but there’s a nice seven mile stretch that’s impossible to set up a speed trap on.  You’ll probably get stuck behind a motorhome though.

We’ve started doing it even in summer if we’re staying in downtown Seattle. Parking a car there just costs too much and with the light rail it’s pretty easy to get from SeaTac to a downtown hotel.

Yes, it’s difficult to set a speed trap on a bridge.

I was surprised to hear about a max speed of 25 mph in the keys, I thought I hit well over that, but there was always so much traffic you never really had to pay attention to speed, just keep with the flow and try and enjoy the sights.

I think that’s about the length of a flight I took from Guilin to Hong Kong. It was the only flight I ever enjoyed.

If you get snow and chain control it gets really bad. It’s not hard to traverse but it’s all the cars on the road.

It ended up being $1500 for two tickets round trip from Nashville to Key West with 9:30 am leaving Nashville and coming back at 7:00 pm. It should have been cheaper but we bought the tickets just over a week before the trip.
